Cork, Ireland – An Internship

 |  HAK-HAS  |

After graduating from the HAK in June, Jasmin Amon and Julia Schönberger seized the opportunity to do an internship abroad in Cork, Ireland, as part of the Erasmus+ program.

They stayed in Cork for one month and lived in a house with other international students. Living together with other students proved to be very entertaining and close friendships quickly developed.

For their internship, a coworking-space had the perfect job for them in their marketing department. The job and accommodation were arranged by the organization "Partnership International". This organization was also the first point of contact for questions or problems that arose during their stay.

Due to their education in HAK, they were able to not only show and improve their skills but also exchange knowledge with the CEO of the company. From Monday to Friday, they were responsible for the administration of one of the two locations of ‘Culture Co-Working’, welcomed the customers, prepared the meeting rooms, and looked after the kitchen. Furthermore, the social media channels were managed and content was created with a lot of enthusiasm. The gained skills will significantly benefit their future university studies and career paths.

In the afternoon, Jasmin and Julia often spent their time in the city of Cork or one of Cork’s famous pubs – The Shelbourne Bar. Two times a week there was the event “Bla-Bla-Meeting”, where people from all around the world met, exchanged experiences and inspired each other. The friendships they made there have lasted to this day.

Jasmin and Julia spent their weekends discovering the green country of Ireland. Especially the Blarney Castle with its colourful gardens, the mystic atmosphere at the Cliffs of Moher, and the astonishing nature of Killarney’s national park will remain in their memory. The cities of Dublin, Cobh, and Dingle were also worth exploring, as there are many hidden and lovely sights.

The internship in Cork not only enhanced the English language skills of the graduates but also provided them with the unique opportunity to forge new friendships and experience the beauty of Ireland.
